Deadpool dominates the foreground while the ensemble converges behind him. The red field, overlapping figures and portrait sidebar became a recognizable template for later covers.
New Mutants #98 has a February 1991 cover date and introduced Deadpool, Gideon and Copycat impersonating Domino. Rob Liefeld penciled and inked the cover. Its cover colorist remains unconfirmed.
Distinct redraws receive separate records, including newly illustrated facsimile variants. Trade dress, virgin, sketch, foil and metal treatments of one drawing stay together as related editions. Straight reprints of the original artwork are not counted as new homages.
