Artist Profile

A career in context

Szymon Kudrański works as both an illustrator of established characters and a creator of his own comics. His professional biography identifies DC assignments on Action Comics, Batman: The Dark Knight, Penguin: Pain and Prejudice and Green Arrow, alongside Marvel work on Punisher and Fallen Angels. Todd McFarlane selected him for art duties on Spawn. These assignments gave him experience across superhero, crime and horror stories before he developed a slate of independent projects.

Through his studio ONE MAN ART, Kudrański writes and illustrates original series published by Image Comics. Something Epic builds its fantasy around imagination as a living realm that encompasses original characters, myths and literary figures. Blood Commandment, announced in 2023 as a four-issue miniseries, centers on an isolated father and son facing a supernatural threat. In the publisher’s announcement, Kudrański described returning to classic vampire rules while emphasizing the creature’s damned soul and the dramatic consequences for the family.

His subsequent solo work includes No Man’s Land. In a 2026 Image announcement, he identified Something Epic as the project that introduced him to readers as a solo creator and enabled the expansion into his other series. That year’s new Something Epic arc brought its investigators into a realm of horror creatures. The launch included a cover collaboration with McFarlane, together with Kudrański’s own film and horror-comics homage variants, reconnecting his independent storytelling with a longtime professional collaborator.

CoverLineage noteSomething Epic makes Kudrański’s independent series the common thread across these entries. Issue #1 references Amazing Fantasy #15, while selected covers for #9 and #11 join The Dark Knight Returns #1 lineage.
