Artist Profile
A career in context
Lee Bermejo illustrated Joker and Luthor with writer Brian Azzarello, and also worked on Before Watchmen: Rorschach. DC describes his approach in terms of detailed realism and cinematic storytelling.
Bermejo expanded his work as a storyteller with Batman: Noël and the original series Suiciders. In a DC interview about Suiciders, he discussed developing the idea over roughly a decade and drawing on Los Angeles and his own experience moving from the United States to Europe. The project combines his writing with his visual world-building.
