Canadian American comic artist and White Widow co-creator whose career spans character design, independent publishing and detailed cover illustration.

Artist Profile

A career in context

Jamie Tyndall is a Canadian American comic artist with an educational background in both art and history. His official biography records an honors degree from the University of Toronto and a further degree from Sheridan College of Art. He describes a practice in which he often handles pencils, inks and color himself, while also collaborating with professional colorists. Female superheroes and elaborately designed costumes are recurring subjects in his published work.

Tyndall partnered with writer Benny Powell to establish Absolute Comics Group in 2017. White Widow became one of their central properties, giving him a role in developing an independent superhero rather than only illustrating established licensed characters. Absolute’s creator roster also identifies him as a creator of I Make Boys Cry, an interior artist on both titles, and a cover artist for AMPED, Darchon, Duel Identity, Katrina, Markiplier and Wayward Sons.

His wider cover portfolio includes G.I. Joe, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Archie, Grimm Fairy Tales, Red Sonja, Ninjak, Godzilla and Danger Girl. His professional biography lists commissions for publishers including IDW, Zenescope, Valiant and Coffin Comics, alongside concept and promotional work for Fox projects such as Deadpool, X-Men and Logan. His own storefront presents another part of that practice: art prints and collectible comic editions issued under his name, including convention editions in paper and metal formats.

CoverLineage noteWhite Widow appears in both the ASM300 and Spider-Man #1 catalogs through separate homage editions. Archie Meets Jay & Silent Bob adds a Batman #423 reference, connecting Tyndall’s original superhero work with his licensed-character covers.
