Artist catalog & profile
J. Scott Campbell
A defining figure of 1990s comics whose animated line and fashion-conscious character design became a visual brand of their own.
Artist Profile
A career in context
J. Scott Campbell entered comics through WildStorm’s early talent search and rose to prominence drawing Gen13. He went on to co-create Danger Girl, whose combination of adventure, design, and expressive cartooning cemented his reputation.
Campbell later became one of the industry’s most recognizable cover artists, particularly on Spider-Man and its supporting cast. He continues to produce exclusive variants, prints, and new interpretations of major characters.
CoverLineage noteCampbell’s line is so identifiable that homage runs in two directions at once: the source cover remains visible, but every gesture is immediately absorbed into his own language of silhouette and expression.
