Artist Profile
A career in context
George Pérez (1954–2022) worked as a penciller, inker, writer, and co-plotter. With Marv Wolfman, he developed The New Teen Titans and illustrated Crisis on Infinite Earths, two projects central to DC’s superhero publishing in the 1980s.
Pérez was also a key creative figure in the 1987 relaunch of Wonder Woman, emphasizing the character’s Greek mythological roots. His later bibliography includes JLA/Avengers, bringing characters from two publishers together in one crossover. DC’s memorial describes a career that influenced generations of comics artists and readers.
CoverLineage noteJustice League of America #195 and Tales of the Teen Titans #52 connect Pérez to the Uncanny X-Men #141 lineage. His profile lets readers follow that composition beyond the publisher of its source image.
