Artist Profile
A career in context
Diego Galindo is a Spanish comic artist from Seville who graduated in fine arts from the University of Seville in 2003. Norma Editorial’s biography describes an early professional practice centered on painting, gallery work and individual and group exhibitions. He also taught in the university’s drawing department during the 2009–2010 academic year. In 2010 he redirected his professional work toward comics, with much of his subsequent output produced for the United States market.
His collaborators include El Torres, Scott Lobdell, Greg Pak, Jody Houser and Jim Zub. Publisher biographies identify work for Dynamite on Red Sonja and Army of Darkness, BOOM! Studios on Power Rangers, and Dark Horse on Stranger Things. His sequential-art projects include Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons, Stranger Things: Tomb of Ybwen and Avatar: The High Ground. Norma notes that although drawing is his principal role, he also inks and colors many assignments and has worked extensively as a cover illustrator.
Galindo teamed with Greg Pak for Lawful, an original BOOM! Studios fantasy series launched in June 2024. Its city transforms residents into monsters as their infractions accumulate, combining a contemporary social setting with supernatural consequences. The first issue’s creative team also included colorist Irma Kniivila and letterer Simon Bowland. His cover work runs alongside those longer stories: BOOM! credits him with the cover of Power Rangers: The Psycho Path, illustrating the breadth of his participation in licensed comics.
CoverLineage noteGalindo’s Power Rangers covers connect issue #39 to Hulk #340 and issue #45 to Spider-Man #1. Rogues! #3 supplies a separate X-Men #141 connection, placing his licensed and independent work side by side in the archive.
