Bill Galvan is a comic-book artist associated with Archie Comics. His own professional site also lists assignments on Radioactive Man and Bart Simpson for Bongo Comics and Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel. These credits place his career across teenage comedy, television-derived humor and superhero storytelling. One substantial Archie project is Freshman Year, created with writer Batton Lash. Galvan explained in an interview that he proposed exploring Archie and his friends’ first year of high school; Lash developed the five-issue outline and scripts. The team pitched the idea to Archie Comics and worked with the editors on its presentation. Galvan prepared younger-looking character sketches while retaining the familiar traditional drawing approach. The story combined comedy with additional drama and explored how the established friends and teachers first entered Archie’s life.

Galvan has also collaborated professionally with his son, inker Ben Galvan. Archie’s 2024 interview documents their shared work on stories featuring characters such as The Web and Captain Valor. Bill emphasized his son’s attention to detail and fidelity to the pencils, as well as the value of passing along professional knowledge. Their collaboration extends to covers and The Cult of That Wilkin Boy, combining family mentorship with the division of drawing and inking responsibilities used in commercial comics.
